Dr Md Amzad Hossain is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Economics from the University of Virginia. Before joining the University of Arkansas, he was a lecturer at the University of Dhaka, where he earned his M.A. and B.A. degrees in economics.

His research interests lie in the areas of development and labor economics. He has conducted research on topics such as higher education, human capital, the labor market, and violence in developing countries, with a focus on gender disparity.

He has used unique administrative data that he has obtained from various government offices and academic institutions for his research. He has also participated in designing and implementing field experiments.
