The MOMODa Foundation, in collaboration with IDE JETRO and Florida International University (FIU), is tackling the pressing issues of early marriage and adolescent pregnancy in Gaibandha District. Our project aims to raise awareness through health education among young girls.
We have established 60 Kishori Clubs across Gaibandha Sadar Upazila and Saghata Upazila, where we conduct monthly sessions covering essential topics such as the consequences of child marriage, family planning education, and safe motherhood practices. These sessions, which began in February 2024, conclude with quizzes to reinforce the lessons learned.
To encourage active participation and engagement, we award prizes to girls who excel in the quizzes. This reward system serves as a motivating factor, helping the girls stay focused on the critical topics discussed.
By empowering these young girls with knowledge and support, we aim to create a positive impact on their lives and the community. Join us in this important mission to delay early pregnancy and promote a healthier future for the girls of Gaibandha District.
