Draft Evaluation Report Submitted

MOMODa FOUNDATION recently executed an evaluation research on the demand generation pilot for the Reading Glasses for Improving Livelihoods (RGIL) Program, a collaborative initiative supported by VisionSpring and BRAC, across the Bogura, Joypurhat, Pabna, and Kushtia regions. The overarching goal of this ongoing market research was to produce evidence-based insights essential for the full-scale rollout of the demand generation strategy. The evaluation focused on three primary areas: determining the effectiveness of the demand generation activities in mobilizing community members to attend the eye camps, gauging the perceptions of the Community Health Workers (CHWs) and Field Officers (FOs) regarding the implementation process, and assessing the execution fidelity of the implementing partners. To achieve this, a rigorous mixed-methods approach was adopted, combining a quantitative survey of 522 eye camp service recipients with detailed qualitative components, which included 7 observations (using both full observation and mystery shopper methods) and 14 in-depth interviews (IDIs) with various program personnel. Specific areas of investigation included analyzing effective communication channels, understanding community preferences for free versus paid services, assessing perceptions of cost, and evaluating the operational performance of the FOs and Sastho Sebikas (SSs).
