To observe participants from Mobile Bangking project and also to look the feasibility of intiating furhter research initiative with the FOUNDATION.

Dr.Jonathan Morduch is Professor of Public Policy and Economics at the NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, and Managing Director of the Financial Access Initiative, a consortium of researchers focused on financial inclusion. His research interests on microfinance, social investment, and the economics of poverty.

To have an interest in doing more research work in Bangladesh, Dr. Morduch visited MOMODa FOUNDATION. His visit here in Gaibadha was lasted from July 17-21, 2017. During the visit, Professor Morduch together with FOUNDATION’s research team visited several NGOs like SKS, RDRS, Friendship, Gana Unnyan Kendra (GUK) etc. He met some of our Mobile Banking project’s participants to uncover the place of discomfort of using mobile banking technologies in terms of cash transfer from self to others. He also met a Micro- credit borrower group at a river island area to learn about their motivation of prosperities and stresses around the initiative. Simultaneously, on July 16, 2017 Professor Morduch and Dr. Abu Shonchoy presented Foundation’s implemented study outcomes to the stakeholders on the occasion of ‘Seeds of Change of the Garment Industry’ at Six Seasons Hotel in Dhaka.
