Short Bio:

Shadia Chowdhury is a newly appointed Executive (Communication) at MOMODa FOUNDATION. She is a food and nutrition expert with extensive research and clinical experience in various settings. She holds a M.S. and a B.Sc. Honor’s degree in Food & Nutrition from the University of Dhaka, the leading public university in Bangladesh. Shadia has working experience in renowned organizations at BIRDEM Hospital and Popular Medical College Hospital as a Nutrition Consultant & Dietician, where she provided Dietetics, Nutrition and service to patients. She has also worked as a consultant for Reproductive Health Services Training and Education Program (RHSTEP), a national NGO that provides reproductive health services and education to women and adolescents.

Along with her academic excellence, Ms Chowdhury has conducted research on maternal and child nutrition, food security, dietary diversity, and different health issues as a research officer at LINCOLNS Higher Education & Management, a research and consultancy firm, and as a program assistant at Bangladesh Breastfeeding Foundation, a national advocacy organization. She has also been a senior research assistant and a research fellow at ICDDR, B. Along with that, she has participated in several training programs and workshops to enhance her knowledge and skills in food and nutrition.

Ms Chowdhury also has completed an advanced training course on research techniques in social sciences at the University of Dhaka, a clinical nutrition and dietetics training program at BIRDEM General Hospital, the largest diabetes hospital in the world, and a multi-sectoral consultative meeting for International Health Regulation (IHR-2005) at DGHS, the Bangladesh Government Directorate, responsible for health service in Bangladesh.

Shadia is passionate about improving the nutritional status and quality of life of mothers and children through evidence-based interventions and advocacy. She is excited to join MOMODa FOUNDATION as an executive (communication) and contribute to its mission and vision. She hopes to use her communication skills and expertise to raise awareness, mobilize resources, and build partnerships for the organization.
