Chikako Yamauchi is an assistant professor in Economics at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo. Her areas of interest include the inter-relationships between public policies, institutions, and family well-being in developed and developing countries. In particular, her current research agenda includes corruption, targeting and the distribution of public resources; the impact of poverty alleviation, programs on labor market activities, income and welfare; causes and consequences of rural-urban migration; and the relationship between childcare arrangements and family well-being.
She teaches the PhD level course in Advanced Development Economics and the Master's courses in Public Economics at GRIPS.
